Entity: SPEACLE ("we", "us", "our")
Website: https://speacle.org

Welcome to SPEACLE, an online mentorship community that connects international students with experienced peer mentors for academic and personal growth.

By registering, accessing, or using Speacle, you ("Student", "User", or "Parent/Guardian") agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

If you are under 18 years old, you must review this Agreement with your parent or legal guardian, who must consent to your participation.

1. Overview

SPEACLE provides personalized mentorship—not formal tutoring or licensed educational instruction—through a global network of independent mentors.

Our goal is to empower students with structure, motivation, and relatable guidance.

2. Eligibility

  • Users must be at least 13 years old.
  • If under 18, parent/guardian consent is required.
  • Accurate registration information must be provided and kept confidential.

3. Nature of Service

  • Mentors are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Speacle.
  • Speacle does not guarantee specific grades, scores, or admissions outcomes.
  • Mentorship sessions provide advice and accountability, not formal academic assessment.

4. Commitment to Participation

By joining SPEACLE, students agree to actively engage in their program, attend sessions consistently, and communicate openly with mentors.

Progress depends on participation, honesty, and sustained effort.

5. Scheduling and Attendance

  • Sessions must be booked in advance.
  • Cancellations or reschedules require at least 24 hours' notice.
  • Missed sessions without notice are considered used and non-refundable.

6. Payments and Refund Policy

  • All payments are made directly through Speacle.org using approved processors.
  • Fees are displayed before purchase; applicable taxes may apply.
  • Refunds are not issued for missed or completed sessions except under unavoidable circumstances, approved on a case-by-case basis by Speacle.
  • Subscriptions may be canceled anytime before the next billing cycle.

7. Academic Integrity

Students agree to uphold academic honesty and will not request or expect mentors to complete schoolwork, projects, or exams.

Violation of this clause may result in immediate termination of mentorship.

8. Communication Policy (No Off-Platform Contact)

For safety, privacy, and accountability, all communication between mentors and students must remain strictly on the Speacle platform.

This includes messages, calls, and file sharing.

  • Exchanging personal contact information (e.g., phone numbers, emails, social media handles, or any other identifiers) is strictly prohibited.
  • Any form of off-platform communication between mentors and students is considered a serious violation of Speacle policy and may lead to immediate suspension or permanent removal from the platform.
  • Mentorship calls and chat exchanges conducted through Speacle may be monitored or logged for compliance and student protection.

This rule exists to ensure student safety, data security, and the professional integrity of our mentorship environment.

9. Code of Conduct

All users must:

  • Treat mentors, peers, and staff respectfully.
  • Refrain from harassment, discrimination, or abusive language.
  • Follow the communication policy above and use Speacle only for mentorship purposes.

Speacle reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates this code.

10. Data Usage and Privacy

  • SPEACLE collects academic and communication data solely for educational and operational purposes.
  • Data is never sold or shared with third parties except for secure service provision (e.g., payment processing, analytics).
  • Parents/guardians may request access to or deletion of a minor's data by emailing privacy@speacle.org.
  • Detailed privacy practices are explained in our Privacy Policy.

11. Program Adjustments

SPEACLE may modify, update, or replace program content, mentor assignments, or scheduling policies to better serve student needs.

Users will be notified of significant changes.

12. Intellectual Property

All study materials, lesson content, documents, and digital resources produced or shared through Speacle are the intellectual property of SPEACLE.

They may not be copied, redistributed, or reused without written permission.

13. Limitation of Liability

  • SPEACLE provides mentorship services "as is", without warranties of academic or personal outcomes.
  • We are not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from use of the platform.
  • Students and guardians understand that mentorship is a supplementary educational resource, not a certified program or school.

14. Termination of Account

SPEACLE may suspend or terminate accounts at its discretion for:

  • Violating this Agreement,
  • Engaging in off-platform communication,
  • Fraudulent or unsafe behavior, or
  • Breach of academic integrity or conduct policies.

Termination ends all access to ongoing sessions and stored data.

15. Modifications to Terms

SPEACLE may revise these Terms from time to time.

Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Speacle is registered.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the local courts.
